Best avian cage in the market !!
This is my second cage made by Midwest. I bought the Avian Grande Dometop based on research and Midwest's great customer support. The cage is big, perfect for my sulphur crested cockatoo. It is 6 feet high, it has plenty of room for my parrot to play and forage. Like all Midwest cages, it is made of powder coated steel. Their powdercoat is high-quality, I inspect it daily for chipping or cracking. The locks are well designed and are bird proof. Their beaks cannot grasp and rotate the knobs in order to open. There are also 3 feeding portals with the same bird proof locks. Stainless steel bowls are supported by wire frames to prevent tipping and wasting food. The seed catching skirt are easily installed or removed depending on preference. I left it on, it helps catch loose seeds or pellets. Some people remove them to prevent hitting with their shins. The bottom tray and grate slide out for ease of cleaning. Again, good design. It comes with a single natural wood perch that runs across the cage. It's not a cheap dowel, it is high quality with notches that fit perfectly. The casters are standard for mobility. It is a massive cage after all. Assembly is completely tool-less. Because of the sheer size of the panels, I recommend two people to do it. We were able to assemble it in around 30 minutes. It is a great investment for a large parrot which will see years of use and service. I will not hesitate to buy a second one for a macaw I am planning to acquire next summer.

I take full responsibility for it taking three weeks to get to the build on this cage because it's big and the casters were low quality with someone out here complaining they broke quickly, so I sought replacements before even starting the assembly since installing casters is Step One. But today, as I'm assembling this and undoing the zip ties, there was hidden damage on several parts that I couldn't see on first inspection through bubble pack when I removed each section from the boxes when the cage was received. (Boxes weren't obviously damaged, either - parts inside had shifted and damaged one another.) Found thus far: one bent bar at the bottom of one side, one tab out of alignment on the top of the same piece, the cross-member (that's not even shown in the instructions so must be a recent add) is wider by about 1/8" on both sides when installed leaving two exposed sharp metal pieces at shin-height on each side that will likely cause pain at some future date and is downright dangerous. It's not powder coated, it's what I'd call a painted enamel finish that while likely baked on, scratches way-too easily. And I found a burr on a welded joint that cut me while I was putting it together, so would cut a bird's feet, too. The tray was damaged on one end, bent inward, paint chipped off. No replacement paint was found but at this point, that seems irrelevant. I'm beyond disappointed with this $600+ purchase. I'm an exotic bird owner for 40+ years and was replacing an older powder coated unit for my macaw. I feel suckered on this deal. Buyer beware.

I rescue birds that people have purchased and then decide they don't want anymore; so over the years I have purchased multiple cages of varying styles, sizes and make and have assembled and cleaned all of them. This cage is a godsend. It took me about 10 minutes to put together by myself and I couldn't believe how easy it was. There aren't any screws, nuts, bolts or allen wrenches; each piece neatly and accurately interlocked into the next and the directions are clear. It rolls around nicely and is easy to clean with the large door. By purchasing this cage, I was able to get rid of three cages my cockatiel flock had been using as sleeping cages and now all 14 can hang together at night. I have to admit the low price made me suspicious, but I am absolutely thrilled with this cage. I even like it more than the smaller California Cage I had purchased for more than twice the price for my two cockatoos. The customer service is also noteworthy. My first order disappeared from the delivery company's warehouse. The replacement order was sent out right away. Unfortunately, that same delivery company destroyed two of the boxes of the order with a pallet jack. After taking photos of the damage and sending those and the purchase receipt to customer service, they got replacement parts sent out as soon as possible as they had a backlog and within a couple of weeks, I had everything I needed. PS: For the third shipment, we all agreed to use a different delivery company. :)

First let me say I do like this cage, it’s large a lot of room for my Umbrella Cockatoo, kinda had a hard time putting it together as some of the parts were bent from shipping. I had problems with shipping only received 2 boxes and missing the 3rd. Took over a month to finally get the 3rd and because my color was not in stock I had to settle for another color on the 3rd box so even tho the cage doesn’t match it’s still a nice cage and I like it a lot.

Beautiful cage. Perfect for my African grey. He love it so much. Plenty of room for him. It is very good cage except some of the part were bended. We have to use hammer to bend it back. It is not easy to put it together. The seed catcher come in the box broken. Good thing we don't use it. So disappointed that it was broken in the box due to shipping.
