Product Description
What is SunGrow wood for betta?
Despite its name, this driftwood for bettas is actually the dried husk of the cholla cactus. The product that you’ll receive will be smooth with no thorns, sustainable and raw. The pack of betta wood from SunGrow contains two pieces that are 6″ long and 1″ in diameter with hollow centers. Betta and other top and medium-dwelling fish love to hide and forage among the plants and dark spaces of their aquarium.
How do you prepare the betta wood?
When your two-pack of SunGrow Betta Wood arrives, remove it from its packaging and begin to boil water on your stovetop. Place the two wood logs into the boiling water and let it boil for approximately 3-5 minutes. Remove the wood from the water and allow it to cool. A post-boil soak in freshwater is a recommended step. Before placing the wood in your aquarium, give them a quick rinse, even after boiling or soaking. When added directly to an aquarium, the betta wood will float. To sink cholla wood immediately, soak for 24 to 48 hours and it’ll sink.
